Eurospace is the professional association of the European space industry.

As such Eurospace is the reference body for consultation and dialogue within the industry. The main focus of Eurospace is space policy and strategy. The association regularly issues recommendations based on the identification of issues affecting industry as a whole. The association maintains a permanent policy, programmatic, and technology watch through the activities of its Task Forces and with the Eurospace team.

Policy & Advocacy

Eurospace is the reference body for space policy and strategy within the European space industry. Through its Policy Committee and dedicated Task Forces, Eurospace identifies issues affecting the entire sector and formulates industry-driven recommendations. By maintaining a permanent policy and programmatic watch on EU, ESA, and national initiatives, Eurospace ensures its members stay informed, represented, and engaged. This proactive approach helps shape a forward-looking European space sector, where industry voices influence key decisions and regulations that impact its competitiveness.

Space Economy

Understanding the evolving space economy is essential for the industry’s growth. Eurospace provides members with data-driven insights, market trends, and economic analysis that inform strategic decisions. By tracking the industrial and institutional landscape, Eurospace supports evidence-based advocacy and strengthens Europe’s industrial autonomy. Through reports, briefings, and expert discussions, members gain exclusive access to knowledge that helps them navigate the complex and rapidly changing space market.

Research & Technology

Eurospace drives industry competitiveness through innovation by actively engaging with European institutions on Research, Technology, and Innovation policies. Since the late 1990s, Eurospace has played a key role in shaping the ESA end-to-end technology strategy, the Technology Harmonisation process, and EU Framework Programme initiatives.

Today, Eurospace also contributes to the Globally Competitive Space Systems partnership (Space Partnership), ensuring that the voice of the industry is reflected in the definition of strategic priorities for space R&D. By consolidating and representing member inputs, Eurospace helps align institutional roadmaps and funding programs with industrial needs, ensuring Europe’s space sector remains at the forefront of technological innovation.

Compliance

Eurospace supports its members in navigating complex regulatory and standardisation challenges that affect the space sector.

Through its Standardisation Working Group (STWG), Eurospace coordinates industry positions to be relayed in the official institutional bodies of ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardisation), as well as nominates experts from the industry who will take part in drafting new standards and updating them. The STWG is open to all members of the industry to participate, including non-members of Eurospace. It also allows coordination for other standardisation bodies (e.g. ISO).

On REACH and chemicals management, Eurospace monitors regulatory developments and evolutions in the restriction list, and is an ECHA accredited stakeholder since 2024. The REACH TF liaises regularly with ESA and ASD, and helps identify joint industry actions to mitigate risks.

Additionally, The EEE Panel aims to help the European space industry develop and implement a common strategy for space EEE (Electronical and Electrical Engineering) components standardisation, certification and strategy and promote it, in the ESCC framework. Eurospace representatives take part in the different relevant bodies: CTB, SCSB, PSWG, and MPTB.
